Imaginé par le designer britannique Alastair Callender en collaboration avec l’entreprise Solar Sailor dans l’idée de créer un bateau à la fois luxueux et respectueux de l’environnement, le concept-boat Soliloquy est un super yacht propulsé par l’énergie du soleil grâce à ses immenses voiles solaires qu’il est possible de déployer et d’orienter. Description originale

An inspirational, luxurious 58m superyacht. Powered by our solar, wind and hybrid marine power technologies and designed by Alastair Callender of Callender Designs. Soliloquy’s rigid-wing rig, and architecturally dynamic form, will be a unique sight to all mariners. This pioneering and highly efficient motor-sailor offers numerous advantages, not least being powered quietly by renewable and hybrid-electric energy. In turn this will bring zero-emission capabilities, and result in significant savings in fuel cost. A design brief was reached to ensure that renewable energies, along with eco-friendly materials and construction techniques, would confirm that this superyacht will become one of the Greenest of luxury yachts. This will comply with, and aims to excel in various industry requirements, including the new Green Star Plus certification from RINA in Italy.

   Bonne idée que celle du yacht respectueux de l’environnement. Reste à trouver des propiétaires qui le soient aussi – difficile mission….
   Je suis curieux de voir les dessous de l’engin, et comprendre comment la stabilité du yacht est assurée. J’ai peur aussi que le compromis présenté ne soit malheureusement pas viable techniquement, mais je peux me tromper.
